About The Position

DriveTime Family of Brands is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support the development, modeling, optimization, and governance of data processes. This role is crucial for enabling business teams, analytics, and vendor partners with high-quality, cutting-edge solutions. As a member of SilverRock Data, you will contribute to the delivery and design of scalable processes and data models using Snowflake, SQL, Python, and Kafka. You will integrate best practices in performance optimization, data quality, and CI/CD workflows. The role involves mentoring and collaborating with fellow engineers, interfacing with product leadership, and partnering with analysts to translate complex data requirements into stable, trusted processes and data structures within an AI-first, Agile framework.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related data discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced SQL expertise supporting both transactional and analytical/reporting workloads.
  • Experience working with SQL Server and modern cloud data platforms, particularly Snowflake.
  • Proven experience building end-to-end data pipelines and supporting near real-time data integration using technologies such as Kafka, Confluent, CDC, and Snowflake.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, normalized design, and enterprise data architecture principles.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, data validation, and integrations.
  • Experience with dbt and modern ELT development methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Argo or similar workflow orchestration platforms.
  • Experience utilizing Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows through GitHub or Azure DevOps.
  • Demonstrated success leveraging AI and machine learning concepts for automation, predictive insights, anomaly detection, or intelligent workflow improvements.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor teammates and contribute to team growth and continuous improvement.
