Senior Data Engineer

Requirements
- 5+ years in data or backend engineering.
- Experience building high-throughput pipelines from ingestion through transformation and storage.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and MySQL, including schema design and performance tuning.
- Production experience in AWS.
- Experience with sensitive or regulated data.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with EHR integrations (PointClickCare, Homecare Homebase, WellSky, Epic).
- Familiarity with HL7 v2 or FHIR standards.
- Experience with CDC from SQL Server.
- Experience supporting ML teams in production.
- Significant open-source contributions, experience with systems that have outlived tenure, or a high-bar engineering background.
Responsibilities
- Own pipelines and integrations for customer EHR systems and hospital databases using REST, webhooks, and CDC or log shipping (including Microsoft SQL Server).
- Transform, validate, and normalize clinical data such as ADT, conditions, medications, notes, and vitals across HL7 v2 and FHIR standards.
- Manage and optimize data warehouse schemas in Snowflake and MySQL to serve real-time application needs and downstream Machine Learning (ML) models, focusing on performance and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure pipeline reliability in AWS through robust monitoring, alerting, and data-quality checks to prevent silent degradation of model performance.
- Maintain HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance across all pipelines, ensuring sound handling of Protected Health Information (PHI).
