DMBA (Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators), a non-profit organization that administers benefits for companies owned or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for Migration & Quality. This is a 12-month contract position with the potential for a 12-month extension. The role supports a large-scale migration from an Oracle to a SQL Server health insurance claims processing platform and continued expansion of the enterprise data warehouse. Its primary focus is migrating reporting logic, data-load processes, and business rules from legacy solutions into the enterprise data warehouse while supporting the organization's transition to the new platform. As legacy structures are retired, the engineer will help identify equivalent modern data and business rules and establish the warehouse as the long-term source of truth for reporting and downstream integrations. The engineer will work with BI/ETL developers, senior engineers, architects, business subject matter experts, and AI-assisted analysis tools. This hands-on analytical, migration, validation, and data-quality role involves learning unfamiliar schemas and business processes, investigating discrepancies, tracing logic across systems, reverse-engineering processes, and determining how rules should be implemented in the future-state warehouse architecture. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with required in-office work on Mondays and Tuesdays.
