About the position

As a Senior Data Engineer at Techstars, you will play a crucial role in building innovative software solutions for entrepreneurs globally. Your responsibilities will include developing backend streaming data pipelines, integrating with third-party SaaS applications, creating complex analytics features, and building data APIs for the platform. Additionally, you will contribute to architecture and solution design, optimize solution performance and reliability, and help Techstars expand its reach to support more entrepreneurs. This role requires a passion for data solutions, experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, expertise in ETL and data pipelines, and proficiency in developing robust APIs. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with a desire to continuously improve the quality of products and solutions delivered.

Responsibilities

Build backend streaming data pipelines, integrations with third party SaaS applications, complex analytics features, and app facing platform data APIs
Participate in architecture and solution design and help optimize solution performance and reliability
Build and deploy high-quality data ingest, cleansing, analytics, integrations, and API solutions
Ensure that all data and software solutions are secure, performant, reliable, observable, and testable
Work collaboratively with team members in an agile development environment
Continuously improve the quality of the products and solutions delivered
Develop robust APIs
Train machine learning models to predict quality outcomes using frameworks like Scikit
Work with a variety of relational and non-relational database systems
Utilize cloud-based data visualization technologies
Develop with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Have a passion for building data solutions with a deep appreciation for dev/ops
Have experience working with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
Have experience in financial/investment data (a plus)
Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desire to learn and teach

Location: Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York - hybrid
Build backend streaming data pipelines, integrations with third party SaaS applications, complex analytics features, and app facing platform data APIs
Participate in architecture and solution design
Optimize solution performance and reliability
Help Techstars attract more founders and scale the Techstars footprint
Build and deploy high-quality data ingest, cleansing, analytics, integrations, and API solutions
Ensure data and software solutions are secure, performant, reliable, observable, and testable
Work collaboratively in an agile environment
Continuously improve the quality of products and solutions delivered
Passion for building data solutions with a deep appreciation for dev/ops
Experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
Data engineering experience with ETL, streaming, data pipelines, and cleansing
Experience developing robust APIs
Experience working in an agile development environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desire to learn and teach
Experience training machine learning models using frameworks like Scikit
Diverse experience with languages (SQL, Python, Node, Scala)
Experience with relational and non-relational database systems (Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, Prometheus)
Experience with cloud-based data visualization technologies (Tableau, Domo, Airtable)
Experience in financial/investment data is a plus
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Compensation: $135,000 - $155,000 with 10% bonus
