About The Position

The Senior Data Analyst at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) will mentor team members, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) and technical resource. This role involves utilizing advanced analytical and statistical experience to evaluate process improvement options and incorporate them into recommendations for clinical/business stakeholders regarding process and outcome improvement, resource utilization, and clinical practice patterns. The position requires identifying, defining, and implementing new data-driven strategies and processes for the organization, and independently overseeing the remediation of project obstacles. Additionally, the Senior Data Analyst will contribute to technical process improvement for the Enterprise Data and Analytics team by enhancing data infrastructure for reporting, streamlining code review processes, and implementing technical standards. Additional duties include developing metrics, retrieving data, ensuring result validity, proposing innovative data solutions (dashboards, reports, BI tools), coordinating assigned projects, training new team members, advising clinical teams on data models and testing, communicating work plans and findings, gathering requirements, and guiding clinical teams and business stakeholders on large scope projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Analysis or a related field and 5 years of experience OR Master's degree in same and 3 years of experience.
  • Experience working with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Experience with Qlik Sense.
  • Experience with REDCap.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with R.
  • Experience with SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, define, and implement new data-driven strategies and processes for the organization.
  • Independently oversee the remediation of project obstacles.
  • Contribute to technical process improvement for the Enterprise Data and Analytics team.
  • Develop metrics, retrieve data, and ensure validity of results.
  • Propose innovative and appropriate data solutions (dashboards, reports, business intelligence tools, etc.) for the measurement of processes and outcomes.
  • Coordinate assigned projects, including project definition, assignment of task responsibilities, setting deadlines, and all other aspects of project management.
  • Train new team members.
  • Advise clinical teams on new data models, testing frameworks, and documentation practices.
  • Communicate work plans, progress, and findings.
  • Independently gather requirements and set deadlines.
  • Independently guide clinical teams and business stakeholders on large scope projects.
