About The Position

Tillster is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to lead complex analytical work from business-question framing through execution, presentation, and stakeholder follow-through. The role proactively identifies KPI trends, anomalies, opportunities, and risks; provides actionable recommendations; and serves as a trusted analytics advisor to teams across Marketing, Product, Finance, Engineering, Account Management, and Support/Operations. It also designs and analyzes statistically valid A/B tests and translates findings into decision-relevant narratives. The analyst is the team's primary Google Analytics subject matter expert, responsible for GA4 reporting, custom dimensions and metrics, tracking-plan validation, and GA-to-warehouse integration. In partnership with the Lead MarTech Solutions Architect, the role advises on tagging strategy for product features and platform launches. It also owns high-quality Looker Explores and dashboards, develops documented and tested LookML, maintains canonical metric definitions, expands self-service analytics, and keeps production analytics accurate as warehouse structures change. The position owns data-product accuracy and freshness, investigates data quality issues, and collaborates with Analytics and Data Engineers on root causes, SQL performance, data models, and semantic-layer design. It partners with the Senior BI & AI Analyst on customer analytics and incorporates Data Science model outputs into dashboards and analysis. The role also establishes analytical standards, reviews code, mentors Junior Data Analysts, and contributes reusable assets and governance guidance. The analyst applies LLM and AI tools in delivered analytics workflows, develops natural-language self-service analytics agents, configures AI-assisted BI capabilities such as Cortex Analyst, and defines quality controls for AI-generated outputs. The role prototypes tools to reduce repetitive work and presents build-versus-buy recommendations to the Manager. This is a hybrid role that must work Eastern Standard Time (United States).

  • 3–4 years of business intelligence experience, with expert Looker skills including LookML development, Explores, dashboards, visualization, and self-service analytics design.
  • 2–3 years of Google Analytics experience, including GA4 implementation, configuration, reporting, tracking strategy, and warehouse integration.
  • 2–3 years of A/B testing and experimentation experience, including experimental design, statistical testing, hypothesis formulation, and interpretation of results.
  • 3–4 years of statistical analysis experience, including descriptive and inferential statistics, trend analysis, and anomaly detection.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on AI-augmented analytics experience, including LLM usage, AI agent development, prompt engineering, and AI output validation.

  • 3–4 years of project-management experience, including end-to-end analytical project ownership, managing concurrent initiatives, and proactive insight delivery.

  • Design and support statistically valid A/B tests, including hypotheses, sample sizing, metric selection, and results analysis.
  • Own GA4 reporting, custom dimensions and metrics, tracking-plan validation, and GA-to-warehouse integration; advise on tagging strategy with the Lead MarTech Solutions Architect.
  • Build and maintain Looker Explores and dashboards, develop and document LookML, and ensure metric definitions align with governed semantic-layer standards.
  • Expand self-service analytics for non-technical teams, targeting coverage across at least two new business units per half-year.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency of production Explores and dashboards as underlying warehouse structures change.
  • Own the accuracy and freshness of in-scope data products; investigate quality issues and partner with Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers to resolve upstream problems.
  • Write performant SQL and collaborate with Data Engineers on query optimization, compute-cost efficiency, and derived-table design.

  • Partner with the Senior BI & AI Analyst on segmentation, LTV, and churn definitions; incorporate Data Science model outputs accurately into dashboards and analysis.
  • Diagnose data freshness and quality issues in pipelines feeding owned dashboards, escalate issues, and communicate resolution timelines.
  • Establish team coding standards and analytical best practices, including SQL and LookML conventions, documentation, and PR reviews.
  • Conduct substantive code reviews and mentor Junior Data Analysts through paired analysis, feedback, and structured review; escalate development needs or blockers to the Manager.
  • Create reusable SQL patterns, LookML components, analysis frameworks, and documentation templates, and contribute at least one standards update, governance policy, or best-practice guide per year.
  • Use LLM and AI tools hands-on to accelerate analytics workflows, including insight narration, anomaly detection and explanation, and dashboard annotation.
  • Design, build, validate, and iterate on natural-language self-service analytics agents for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Configure Cortex Analyst or equivalent AI-assisted BI platforms, including semantic model templates and YAML definitions.
  • Define quality standards for AI-generated analytical outputs, including accuracy validation, hallucination detection, and review before external or executive sharing.
  • Prototype AI tooling, present build-versus-buy recommendations to the Manager, and document lessons learned for the shared AI analytics playbook.
