About The Position

The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders to understand business needs, analyze data, and translate requirements into clear functional and high-level technical specifications. The role focuses on delivering data-driven business solutions through requirements gathering, data analysis, collaboration with technical teams, and support for data quality and user acceptance testing.

This is a 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity based in Tampa or Dallas. The position is hybrid, with three days per week onsite, and candidates must be local. Financial Services or Capital Markets experience is required.

Requirements

• 8 to 15 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a related role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience working on enterprise data, reporting, analytics, and business transformation initiatives.
• Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Proven ability to convert business requirements into high-level technical specifications.
• Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience analyzing large datasets.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and analytics concepts.
• Experience with data mapping, data validation, and reconciliation.
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Sigma, or Tableau.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Financial Services or Capital Markets experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data mapping documents.
• Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and business insights.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
• Support data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business users.
• Create and maintain business process documentation and requirement artifacts.
