About The Position

Assist in conducting credit investigations and analysis of financial data, the company background, any guarantor support, as well as the industry type on new and existing commercial and agricultural loans as assigned. Preparation of financial statements and projections, spread sheets, peer analysis, and reports including written analysis of the overall credit for the officer, senior lending group and/or loan committee per bank policies and guidelines. Assist in the completion and tracking of borrowing bases, loan agreements, action plans, risk ratings, watch list and collateral evaluations as required. Work with lenders in completing sufficient loan interviews, annual loan reviews and inspections to develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the overall lending relationship and culture. Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies and procedures and identification of deviations from the policy. Maintain knowledge and compliance with all banking laws and regulations related to the lending function, including required training to complete all specific job duties. Assist the VP Credit Administration in developing and maintaining credit risk tools and systems to support/maintain credit analysis and bank loan risk goals. Keep abreast of current economic conditions and trends that affect the loan portfolio and banking industry. Provide general support and/or assistance to the lending staff as needed. Represents Bank in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc., and promotes Bank's favorable image. Remains knowledgeable and abreast of guaranteed government loan programs and other conventional financing mechanisms as vehicle for customers. Help in identifying, developing, and soliciting new business opportunities, including referrals of all bank products. Assist with loan review as needed. Compliance with bank policies and procedures and federal and state laws/ regulations. Assist IT with their vendor management by reviewing financials of vendors to ensure there are no concerns with their ability to continue operations. Other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of actual Credit Analysis experience either as a Credit Analyst or Commercial/Agriculture Lender with a financial institution.
  • Loan analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Business development/sales skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of lending regulations and policies.
  • Ability to interact with customers and employees with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Resourceful, innovative, and well organized.
