About The Position

Gadge USA was established in 1993 and is a national packaging supply and supply-chain solutions company with an expansive distribution network. We manage packaging portfolios across multiple categories, combined with a scalable service model, which delivers packaging solutions and continuous improvement to our customers. We are currently recruiting a Senior Creative & Technical Services Specialist. In this role, you will oversee the development and management of packaging specifications, review and validate samples against specifications, and support structural design and artwork approval processes. This role partners closely with Sales, our Account Managers, our Project teams, and external vendors to ensure customer requirements are translated into accurate, timely, and high-quality deliverables. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise, support product development, and work cross functionally to contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and overall customer experience.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and inDesign.
  • Knowledge of pre-flighting and file preparation for print production of various substrates and formats.
  • Ability to visualize 2D cad drawings to be utilized for packaging.
  • Create physical mock-ups for visual presentations.
  • Consistently act as a key design and technical point of contact with both internal and external customers through open and ongoing communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Packaging Design, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in prepress and art file preparation.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in various packaging types, materials, and production methods.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of flexographic and offset printing processes.
  • Critical thinking and ability to take abstract ideas and concepts and develop them into print production ready art files.
  • Project management skills to identify, coordinate, communicate, schedule and determine resources for each project and customer activity.
  • Comfortable working with tooling manufacturing vendors for price negotiations, and timelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably in packaging design or other related programs.
  • Illustrator, PhotoShop and InDesign preferred.
  • Knowledge of Artios CAD and Cape Pack a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and prepare graphics for packaging.
  • Review and validate samples against specifications.
  • Support structural design and artwork approval processes.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Account Managers, Project teams, and external vendors.
  • Provide technical expertise and support product development.
  • Work cross functionally to contribute to process improvements.
  • Source and negotiate for printing plates and cutting dies.
  • Measure packaging samples and review as per specifications.
  • Work alongside and support the Director of Creative & Technical Services.
