About The Position

Tyson & Mendes is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join its Los Angeles Medical Malpractice team. The role is intended for a seasoned litigator prepared to take ownership of sophisticated matters, exercise independent judgment, work directly with clients, and move cases forward. The practice involves healthcare and medical and professional malpractice, as well as matters involving elder abuse, wrongful death, personal injury, and general liability. The attorney will work alongside Partner Mark Kiefer, whose practice represents a broad range of healthcare professionals and organizations and who has nearly 40 years of litigation experience. The Senior Counsel will manage sophisticated matters and competing deadlines, develop and execute case strategy, conduct depositions, work with medical experts, handle substantive motion practice, communicate with clients and carriers, evaluate exposure, and guide cases toward resolution or trial. The role includes independent handling of court appearances, briefs, depositions, and trials, along with routine client communications, client relationship development, and leadership for less experienced attorneys. The Los Angeles practice operates primarily remotely, with attorneys coming together when required for court appearances, depositions, trial preparation, and client needs. Remote, hybrid, or onsite options are available. The position offers autonomy, meaningful responsibility, experienced colleagues, and opportunities for training, development, and a pathway to partnership.
