About The Position

Tyson & Mendes is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join its Los Angeles Medical Malpractice team. The role is intended for a seasoned litigator who can take ownership of sophisticated matters, exercise independent judgment, work directly with clients, and move cases forward. The attorney will work alongside Partner Mark Kiefer on healthcare, medical and professional malpractice, and related litigation involving a broad range of healthcare professionals and organizations. The practice also includes elder abuse, wrongful death, personal injury, and general liability matters. The Senior Counsel will manage complex matters with autonomy while handling case strategy, depositions, expert work, motion practice, client and carrier communications, exposure evaluation, resolution, and trial. Responsibilities also include court appearances, briefs and trials, cultivating client relationships, collaborating with attorneys at all experience levels, and providing direction to less experienced attorneys. The Los Angeles practice operates primarily remotely, with in-person attendance as needed for court appearances, depositions, trial preparation, and client needs. The firm also describes remote, hybrid, or onsite work options. Compensation is $160,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, with eligibility for an annual billable-hours bonus. Benefits include comprehensive coverage, a 401(k) match, student loan repayment assistance or a 529 college savings plan for eligible full-time attorneys after one year, paid parental leave, technology reimbursement, professional development, and other benefits.
