About The Position

ServiceTitan is seeking a Senior Counsel, AI & Product to serve as a day-to-day legal partner for Product, Engineering, Data Science, and cross-functional AI initiatives. This hands-on role provides practical legal counseling throughout the product life cycle, from ideation through launch and ongoing operations, as the company builds and scales AI-enabled features. The legal questions and features this attorney owns will evolve with the AI roadmap; the core responsibility is translating complex, fast-moving legal and regulatory issues into clear, practical guidance that teams can use to build confidently. The role reports to the Deputy General Counsel, Product, Privacy, IP & AI Governance and is remote. The Senior Counsel will administer and mature ServiceTitan’s AI governance program, review AI-related tools and use cases, assess legal risks in AI-enabled and other product capabilities, and monitor emerging AI laws. The role also partners with Marketing and Commercial Legal on substantiation of AI-related product claims, creates playbooks and training, and collaborates across Legal and business functions to drive coordinated decision-making.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 8–10 years of combined law firm and in-house experience counseling technology companies on product development, data, and emerging-technology legal issues.
  • Hands-on experience advising on generative AI governance, deployment, or compliance.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. consumer protection and communications law, including TCPA; biometric privacy statutes such as BIPA; and state automated decision-making and AI laws, including California’s CCPA ADMT rules and the Colorado AI Act.
  • Experience advising non-product business functions on legal and compliance considerations of adopting AI-powered tools, including vendor risk, data handling practices, and deployment safeguards.
  • Pragmatic, business-oriented problem-solving approach, with strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical and legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and pivot as organizational needs evolve.

Nice To Haves

  • Broader experience with automated decision-making, algorithmic systems, or data-driven products, such as ad tech, biometric technology, scoring or eligibility systems, or earlier-generation machine-learning features.
  • Experience building or operating an AI governance program, such as AI inventories, impact assessments, and cross-functional review workflows.
  • Technology industry experience in a B2B SaaS company, particularly where compliance decisions affect real-world business and consumer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical legal counseling across the full product life cycle, from ideation through launch and ongoing operations, partnering with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Security, and Marketing.
  • Administer ServiceTitan’s AI governance program, including scaled processes for AI Inventory intake, AI Impact Assessment review, and legal sign-off; continue to mature AI Design Guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary legal contact for internal AI-related initiatives, including legal review of AI tools and use cases.
  • Assess legal risks for AI-enabled and other product capabilities, including automated decision-making, algorithmic scoring or prioritization, and employee- or customer-facing automation.
  • Triage broader product legal risks, including telecom and call-recording laws, consumer protection, fintech, employment, and intellectual property or confidential information; determine urgency and escalation to subject-matter experts, business stakeholders, or outside counsel.
  • Evaluate legal and regulatory risks of AI products and tools considered for internal procurement or platform integration for downstream customer distribution, and define contractual safeguards.
  • Monitor emerging AI legislation, including state automated decision-making rules and the Colorado AI Act, and translate developments into practical internal guidance.
  • Partner with Marketing and Commercial Legal to ensure AI-related product claims are accurate and substantiated.
  • Build and maintain playbooks, templates, and training to reduce turnaround time on routine legal questions.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security to align AI governance priorities and promote consistent business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Privacy, Commercial, Litigation, and IP colleagues to coordinate judgment across product, AI, and adjacent legal domains.

Benefits

  • Learning and development opportunities, comprehensive onboarding, leadership training, programs, and events.
  • Recognition programs, including Bonusly and peer-nominated awards.
  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, with 100% employer-paid options and 90% coverage for dependents.
  • Flexible spending account (FSA) and health savings account (HSA).
  • 401(k) match.
  • Telehealth options, including One Medical memberships.
  • Parental leave and support.
  • Up to $20,000 in fertility services, including IUI and IVF.
