About The Position

The Senior Counsel, Product is a senior individual contributor responsible for strategic legal guidance across the full lifecycle of DailyPay’s products and services. Operating independently, this role resolves complex regulatory and commercial challenges and applies deep expertise in consumer financial services law and product-legal review. The Senior Counsel advises Product, Engineering, Design, and executive leaders on launching innovations that are compliant, scalable, and strengthen DailyPay’s competitive position and user trust. The role leads legal reviews from product ideation through deployment and post-launch iteration, defines legal strategy for the product roadmap, and advises on consumer financial protection regulations and evolving Earned Wage Access frameworks. It also supports compliant user experiences and marketing, aligns product features with sponsor banks and payments partners, negotiates complex agreements, and maintains product-legal playbooks and review frameworks.

Requirements

8 or more years of legal experience, including top-tier law firm training and in-house experience at a fintech or highly regulated technology company.
Expert-level knowledge of consumer financial services regulations, including EFTA/Regulation E, TILA/Regulation Z, UDAAP, money transmission, and Earned Wage Access regulatory frameworks.
Proven background supporting payments or fintech product launches, affiliate marketing programs, and complex commercial contracts in iterative environments.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve systemic challenges, and translate legal concepts into actionable advice for non-legal stakeholders.
Demonstrated success collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Design teams in fast-paced delivery models.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active Bar membership in good standing and commitment to high standards of professional ethics.

Responsibilities

Lead comprehensive legal reviews of new product features, service enhancements, and AI-driven workflows from ideation through deployment and post-launch iteration.
Define legal strategy for the product roadmap, ensuring feature launches align with DailyPay’s strategic vision, regulatory boundaries, and risk appetite.
Serve as a subject matter expert on consumer financial protection, EFTA/Regulation E, TILA/Regulation Z, UDAAP, money transmission, and evolving state and federal Earned Wage Access frameworks.
Partner with Design, Content, and Marketing teams to build compliant user journeys, transparent disclosures, and marketing and affiliate programs that adhere to advertising standards.
Resolve systemic product-legal challenges with solutions that balance commercial objectives and regulatory safety, advising leadership.
Direct legal alignment with sponsor banks, payment processors, and payment networks to ensure platform features meet partner standards and network rules.
Lead drafting and negotiation of complex, high-stakes product agreements, core platform partnerships, and strategic integrations.
Maintain and update product-legal playbooks, automated compliance templates, and review frameworks.
