About The Position

As a Senior Cost Manager at Linesight, you will work with experienced, culturally diverse teams and contribute to a collaborative environment. You will take responsibility for your role, receive mentoring and support from industry leaders, and contribute to the company’s business strategy while developing your skills and career. The position focuses on cost management for client projects, including tendering, cost planning, change control, cost reporting, final accounts, and construction claims. It also involves mentoring and leading employees. The role requires three days onsite per week. Interviews are conducted in person or virtually, with video required.

Requirements

• Experience as a Senior Cost Manager; consultancy experience is preferred.
• Experience in pre-contract cost management, budget control, cost planning, and preparing and initiating change forms for discussion with project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of alternative construction materials.
• Chartered status or working toward chartered status.
• A degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to build strong relationships with teams and clients through shared purpose, openness, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the tender and bid process, from initial documentation through analysis and reporting.
• Manage change management by identifying, analyzing, approving, and implementing changes affecting project costs.
• Analyze tenders and bids to ensure value for money for clients.
• Assist with preparing and agreeing final accounts, including handling claims, to secure best value for clients.
• Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments.
• Oversee project spending by preparing valuations and cost reports, and communicate variations to the team.
• Provide clear cost documentation and timely communication to support project management and decision-making.
• Support the transparent settlement of construction disputes and loss-and-expense claims.
• Mentor and lead employees to support their performance and growth.
