About The Position

As a Senior Cost Manager at Linesight, you will work with experienced, culturally diverse teams and contribute to a collaborative environment and the company’s business strategy. You will receive mentorship and support from industry leaders, take responsibility for your role, and have opportunities to develop your skills and career. The role focuses on cost management for client projects, including tendering, change management, cost planning, project spend oversight, and final accounts. It requires working onsite five days per week. Interviews are conducted in person or virtually, with video required.

Requirements

• Experience as a Senior Cost Manager; consultancy experience is preferred.
• Experience in pre-contract cost management, budget control, and cost planning.
• Experience preparing and initiating change forms for discussion with project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of alternative construction materials.
• Chartered status or progress toward chartership.
• A degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to build strong relationships with teams and clients through a shared purpose and openness.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the tender and bid process, from initial documentation through analysis and reporting.
• Manage change management by identifying, analyzing, approving, and implementing changes that affect project cost.
• Analyze tenders and bids to ensure value for money for clients.
• Assist with preparing and agreeing final accounts, including handling claims to secure best value for clients.
• Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments.
• Oversee project spend by preparing valuations and cost reports and communicating variations to the team.
• Provide cost documentation and timely communication to support project management and decision-making.
• Support the transparent settlement of construction disputes and loss and expense claims.
• Mentor and lead employees to foster their performance and growth.
