About The Position

McGuire Woods is seeking an Associate to support its Corporate and Private Equity practice. This role involves supporting a nationally recognized private equity practice, offering opportunities for growth and deal-making expertise. The firm is looking for a driven associate with 5-7 years of acquisitions experience to lead transactions for a dynamic PE platform. The Private Equity Transactions Practice Group represents over 200 PE firms and portfolio companies, advising clients on M&A, financings, and strategic counsel across various industries, with a focus on healthcare private equity and independent sponsor work. Attorneys are expected to operate with an investment banking mindset, identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and connecting clients with investors. Requirements

Five to seven years of experience in acquisitions for private equity funds.
Demonstrated ability to quarterback transactions.
A strong academic record.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
A collaborative spirit and genuine enthusiasm for working with innovative technology platforms.
Must be barred in Texas.

Responsibilities

Lead transactions for a dynamic PE platform.
Advise clients across the full investment lifecycle and up and down the capital stack, from M&A and financings to day-to-day strategic counsel.
Operate with an investment banking mindset, proactively identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and connecting clients with investors and contacts.
Work independently with clients and colleagues.
Leverage Harvey AI to accelerate research, streamline drafting, and sharpen analysis.
