About The Position

McGuire Woods is seeking an Associate to support its Corporate and Private Equity practice. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Private Equity at a firm that invests in its employees' growth. The firm is looking for a driven associate with 5-7 years of acquisitions experience to lead transactions for a dynamic PE platform. The Private Equity Transactions Practice Group represents over 200 PE firms and portfolio companies, advising clients on M&A, financings, and strategic counsel across various industries, with a focus on healthcare private equity and independent sponsor work. Attorneys are encouraged to operate with an investment banking mindset, proactively identifying opportunities and cultivating relationships. Requirements

Five to seven years of experience in acquisitions for private equity funds.
Demonstrated ability to quarterback transactions.
Strong academic record.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Collaborative spirit and genuine enthusiasm for working with innovative technology platforms.
Must be barred in California.

Responsibilities

Lead transactions for one of the most dynamic PE platforms in the country.
Advise clients across the full investment lifecycle and up and down the capital stack, from M&A and financings to day-to-day strategic counsel.
Operate with an investment banking mindset, proactively identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and connecting clients with investors and contacts.
Drive deals and provide strategic thinking and client engagement.
