About The Position

Support the Chief Legal Officer by providing legal advice, legal representation, overseeing litigation & risk management, contract review, training employees of workplace rules and policies, and conducting internal investigations.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.
  • At least 4 years of plus of legal experience as a licensed attorney in the US, preferably having experience advising manufacturing clients.
  • JD from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately in writing.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Can use Microsoft Office efficiently.
  • Bar license in any US state is required, Ohio bar is preferred.
  • Commercial litigation and trial experience.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of attention to detail, and excellent teamwork and writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work and respond to multiple demands while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong work ethics, understand business and practical considerations, and work in a fast-paced environment with team collaboration.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the Company.
  • Strong negotiating skills with both legal and commercial issues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the legal department and across all businesses.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision in contract and litigation matters.
  • Proven experience as a legal counsel in business environment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal investigation and handle investigations of government administrative agencies.
  • Prepare and review contracts, policies or memos as directed by General Counsel, including NDAs, joint development agreements and purchase and sales agreements with 3rd parties.
  • Advise on internal clients regarding employment, OSHA related, legal compliance and other issues as directed by General Counsel.
  • Manage outside counsel as may be delegated by General Counsel.
  • Manage and/or handle investigations of internal complaints such as harassment, discrimination, and/or retaliation.
  • Assist General Counsel in managing litigation and pre-litigation disputes.
  • Other duties as assigned by General Counsel.
