About The Position

The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for executing core accounting functions for the management company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting FP&A with timely and reliable information. This role will lead month-end close, prepare consolidated financial statements, maintain compliance with GAAP, and assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic investment firm environment. This position reports to the WIG Controller and is a hybrid position. (4 days in office and 1 day working from home).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in corporate accounting/financial reporting, preferably with an upstream oil and gas company or public accounting firm.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead initiatives.

  • CPA certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for the management company.
  • Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Partner with FP&A to provide financial data, variance explanations, and trend analysis.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Respond to FP&A inquiries and provide supporting schedules for management reporting.
  • Support external audits by preparing PBCs and coordinating with auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Work closely with finance, operations, and investment teams to support corporate initiatives.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting for senior management.
