Requirements

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task projects while meeting aggressive timelines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and results orientation.
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience in accounting for fixed assets preferred.
  • Advanced Excel user and ability to adapt to continually changing technology.
  • Ability to create ad hoc queries in database, comfortable with technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree with an Accounting or Finance concentration required or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP (S/4HANA) experience preferred.
  • Experienced with Sage Software fixed asset system preferred.
  • Preferably 5+ years’ accounting experience, specifically with fixed assets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and reconciling various fixed asset accounts.
  • Preparing and posting various Fixed Asset journal entries.
  • Preparing monthly Property Plant and Equipment schedules.
  • Ensuring and maintaining data integrity of the Fixed Asset Database.
  • Interacting with other areas on Fixed Asset issues.
  • Ensuring accurate and detailed records, proper accounting treatment, and reporting of fixed assets.
  • Exercising accounting control and proper financial treatment of accounts in the specialized area.
  • Supporting capital expenditure activity including purchases, capitalized labor, and capitalized interest.
  • Researching and determining proper accounting treatment of assets and allocation of capital costs.
  • Managing and ensuring consistent execution of corporate capitalization.
  • Recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Reconciling the fixed asset ledger to the general ledger.
  • Resolving differences and initiating corrective action.
  • Owning responsibility of the corporate accounting Asset Management sub-ledger to provide accurate records of asset cost and depreciation activity.
  • Preparing and analyzing data for accounting management software.
  • Reconciling asset software to accounting software for financials.
  • Assisting in the preparation of fixed asset audit schedules, monthly reporting, and ad-hoc requests for audit support.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly internal capital expenditure and fixed asset reports for forecasting and annual audit analysis.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, analysis, reconciliations, and ensuring the balance sheet and income statement are properly stated.
