Western Forest Products is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their finance team at their Head Office in Vancouver, BC. This role is integral to the finance team, responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Key duties include preparing and reviewing account reconciliations (e.g., PP&E and leases), assisting with financial reporting and disclosures, and supporting treasury operations such as payment processing and banking reporting. The position also contributes to tax and compliance activities, including indirect tax filings and supporting Canadian and U.S. tax processes, especially during quarter-end and year-end. Additionally, the Senior Corporate Accountant will support forecasting, departmental reporting, and cross-functional ad hoc analyses and finance initiatives. The role offers exposure to investor relations activities, including assisting with the quarterly earnings process, coordinating conference calls, supporting the preparation of investor materials and transcripts, gathering inputs for potential analyst Q&A, and participating in investor and analyst calls for disclosure compliance. Success in this role requires delivering accurate and timely work under multiple concurrent deadlines, effective prioritization, and strong attention to detail. The individual will build strong working relationships across finance and business teams and gradually take ownership of key processes. Priorities may shift, particularly during close and filing periods. The role is scoped for a recently qualified CPA, with potential for increased responsibility in tax and financial reporting for more experienced candidates.
