About The Position

The Senior Corporate Accountant within the Corporate Reporting and Compliance department is responsible for the preparation, review and analysis of all Solvency II (SII) financial reporting for the Princeton insurance and non-insurance companies and summation of the SII GARC newsletter as part of Munich Re’s worldwide corporate close system, Pension accounting and reporting, and assistance with IFRS reporting. This position is responsible for leading ORCS for Financial Management and Reporting processes and controls; and MARSOX for the organization. This position is responsible for technical accounting research and documentation of the Princeton insurance and non-insurance entities.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting
  • 5+ years experience in reinsurance or insurance accounting, Solvency II financial statement preparation and reporting
  • CPA or pursuing CPA certification
  • Knowledge of multiple bases of accounting (Solvency II and IFRS accounting guidance/principles) – ability to research accounting related issues and reach appropriate conclusions/resolution on such
  • Position requires a self-motivated individual, able to work independently and bring complex issues to resolution.
  • Ability to adapt to varied situations during periods of ambiguity, uncertainty, and change
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing to multiple levels within the organization
  • Ability to work effectively with people at varying staff levels and management
  • Ability to apply knowledge and expertise to wide ranging and complex problems
  • Ability to work under very tight deadlines with extended hours
  • Continually seeks to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the Solvency II and IFRS reporting processes
  • Language: English required

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years experience with SAP financial systems preferred.

  • Apply technical knowledge across multiple bases of accounting to support accurate and timely Solvency II reporting.
  • Coordinate effectively with colleagues and senior management across the organization.
  • Research, assess, and implement new accounting guidance in a timely and accurate manner.
