About The Position

As a Senior Corporate Accountant at Curaleaf, you’ll support monthly close, consolidation, and financial reporting for a complex, multinational organization. The role covers corporate accruals, intercompany activity, foreign currency accounting, and consolidated financial reporting. It is suited to an analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive accountant who is interested in how transactions flow through the general ledger and affect financial statements, and who is motivated to improve processes and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. The position directly supervises the work activities of others and is accountable for managing others through a subordinate supervisor, including selection, recommending termination, performance appraisal, and professional development. The position is based in Stamford, Connecticut. The listed Connecticut hiring range is $100,000–$110,000 USD; title, level, and compensation are commensurate with experience.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
2–3 years of public accounting experience at a national or large regional firm, or equivalent corporate accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement relationships, including the ability to evaluate the broader financial reporting impact of accounting transactions.
Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical reviews in a month-end close environment.
Advanced Excel skills and ability to work accurately with large data sets.
Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and proactively drive issues to resolution.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to build relationships across finance and business teams.
Continuous-improvement mindset focused on efficiency, automation, and enhancing existing processes.

Nice To Haves

CPA certification or active progress toward certification.
Experience with consolidations, foreign currency accounting, and intercompany transactions.
Experience in a public-company environment, including internal controls and SOX compliance.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, OneStream, Vena, or other enterprise financial reporting and consolidation systems.
Exposure to SEC reporting, external audits, or multinational accounting environments.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting workpapers for corporate accounting areas.
Support monthly consolidation, including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation and remeasurement, and consolidated financial statement analysis.
Manage and analyze corporate accruals and other balance sheet accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Perform variance analyses and investigate fluctuations to identify underlying business drivers and accounting impacts.
Partner with Financial Reporting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and international accounting teams to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in financial statements.
Understand how journal entries and accounting activities flow through consolidation and affect external reporting and disclosures.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate manual activities, and improve the quality and efficiency of the close process.
Assist with external audits, SOX compliance, and internal control initiatives.
Contribute to special projects, technical accounting analyses, and process improvement efforts.
Supervise others’ work and manage their selection, recommended termination, performance appraisal, and professional development through a subordinate supervisor.
