About The Position

Gates Hudson is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial information, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting the monthly close process, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Two or more years of recent corporate accounting experience
  • Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to collaborate across departments

  • Experience with financial consolidations
  • Experience using ERP, online banking, procurement, or financial management systems
  • Experience identifying and implementing accounting process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Prepare internal and external consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing financial data
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger transactions
  • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Prepare account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation
  • Maintain and reconcile automated consolidation systems and verify financial data integrity
  • Utilize Excel and other reporting tools to prepare financial analyses and management reports
  • Prepare and record accruals and expense allocations
  • Support payment processing by assigning account coding, reconciling transactions, and coordinating disbursements
  • Work with online banking, procurement, and financial systems to ensure accurate transaction processing
  • Evaluate existing accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Maintain compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls
  • Protect confidential financial information and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Partner with internal departments to research accounting questions and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Provide accounting guidance and support to business partners across the organization
  • Complete special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned
