Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer (Nashville-TN)

Oracle•Nashville, TN

About The Position

The OCI Limits Team owns the foundational platform that manages service limits, quotas, and capacity governance across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The team enables customers and internal OCI services to scale reliably and securely through automated limit management, quota enforcement, and high-scale control plane integrations. It works closely with OCI service teams to support cloud growth, operational stability, and enterprise-grade resource governance. The organization operates highly distributed, mission-critical systems that affect customer onboarding, expansion, and cloud consumption experiences. The engineer designs, implements, and optimizes distributed-system components, with an emphasis on scalability, resiliency, and operability. The role delivers features and load/performance tests; uses data-plane platforms and distributed-state tools for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing; and reviews implementations for scalability. It builds fault-tolerant paths through redundancy, replication, and automatic failover; applies recovery-oriented principles; and implements retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts. The engineer proactively detects and mitigates issues using tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry; authors runbooks; and participates in incident response and root-cause analyses. The role also implements replication and synchronization, develops automation and infrastructure-as-code tools for troubleshooting and maintenance, applies advanced security controls, and meets change-management, compliance, and documentation standards. This position is onsite in Nashville, Tennessee, five days per week. It is not remote; relocation assistance is available.
