About The Position

We're looking for a sharp, versatile Senior Copywriter who understands that great writing isn't just about words, it's about meeting the right person with the right message at the right moment. This role sits at the intersection of content, customer experience, and conversion, supporting lifecycle marketing, customer engagement, and digital advertising across IMA's portfolio of products and programs. This role is ideal for a mid-career writer who's ready to own high-impact work, bring strong strategic instincts, and collaborate across teams.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of writing experience, with a portfolio that spans multiple formats and channels
  • Demonstrated experience in lifecycle or email marketing. You've written full nurture sequences, not just one-off blasts
  • Proven ad copywriting chops. You know how to say a lot with very little, and you know how to methodically adjust copy for testing.
  • Familiarity with UX writing principles and experience collaborating with designers or product teams
  • Comfort working in marketing automation or CRM platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight
  • A sharp editorial eye and the confidence to push back when a brief isn't clear

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing for B2B, professional association, or membership-based organizations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Write and optimize email sequences across the full customer journey, from acquisition and onboarding through renewal and re-engagement
  • Partner with strategic leaders to create nurture tracks tailored to audience segments, ensuring messaging aligns with where someone is in their journey with IMA
  • Partner with marketing ops to test subject lines, CTAs, and messaging approaches through A/B testing
  • Own the copy strategy for retention-focused campaigns, including renewal reminders, win-back sequences, and loyalty messaging
  • Partner with strategic leaders to identify drop-off points in the member journey and develop targeted messaging to re-engage at-risk audiences
  • Write communications that reinforce ongoing value, not just at the point of sale, but throughout a member's lifetime with IMA
  • Collaborate with customer success and membership teams to surface insights that sharpen retention messaging
  • Craft communications that deepen relationships with existing members and customers, including upsell, cross-sell, and milestone-based messaging
  • Translate complex program details into clear, benefit-forward language for diverse professional audiences
  • Develop content that drives membership actions, including renewals, upgrades, and product purchases
  • Partner with customer platform owners to ensure that messaging to customers is consistent across their experience with IMA
  • Write paid social, display, and search ad copy that grabs attention and drives measurable results
  • Develop copy variations for testing across platforms including LinkedIn, Meta, and Google
  • Balance brand voice with performance-driven constraints (character limits, audience targeting nuances, platform best practices)
  • Write and refine microcopy across digital touchpoints, including landing pages, web forms, CTAs, error messages, confirmation flows, and in-product prompts
  • Collaborate with design and web teams to ensure copy and UX work together to reduce friction, build trust, and guide users toward action
  • Advocate for the user's perspective in content decisions, flagging moments where confusing language creates unnecessary drop-off
  • Conduct copy audits and deliver clear recommendations to improve existing digital experiences
