About The Position

We’re Back Market, a global marketplace for refurbished devices, dedicated to making tech reliable, affordable, and better than new. Our mission is to lower our collective environmental impact by providing trustworthy, affordable tech with significantly reduced carbon emissions compared to new devices. We believe in doing more with what we already have. As a Senior Copywriter in our in-house creative team, the Studio, you will collaborate with internal and external partners to create highly-creative, culturally-relevant copy that advances the brand and business. You will report to the Head of Global Copy and be part of a global team focused on exceptional brand storytelling, ensuring consistency with Back Market's tone of voice and business objectives across all channels and audiences. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week in our Union Square office.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in a creative marketing or creative agency team
  • Experience in translating complex briefs into outstanding copywriting and creative concepts.
  • Experience creating marketing/advertising campaigns from developing vision and message platform to overseeing production on time and budget.
  • Understanding and experience in creating integrated content across all marketing channels from digital, social media, and paid media.
  • Strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives.
  • Experience with translating popular and consumer culture into effective marketing communications.

  • Prior experience with full-funnel creative development
  • Experience collaborating with a large creative and marketing team, especially one that is global
  • Familiarity with Figma

Responsibilities

  • Develop best-in-class copy that breaks through the clutter, utilizing humor, relatability, sharp cultural awareness, and a human voice to connect with audiences.
  • Protect and execute the brand tone of voice consistently across all mediums.
  • Be responsible for copy execution for your regional market and your global copy "squad."
  • Deliver compelling and effective copy across multiple touchpoints, including social media, above-the-line marketing (film, OOH), video scripting for social platforms, social-first copy, banners, emails, and push notifications, maintaining a high level of investment and execution for each.
  • Collaborate with the Back Market in-house studio team (Social Team, Executive Creative Director, design team) to support campaigns and daily content.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, particularly within Marketing, to understand market-specific goals and insights and integrate them into copy.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Marketing to ensure US marketing needs are met creatively.
  • Translate marketing data and objectives from briefs into exciting, compelling copy, ensuring the final draft aligns with the initial business goals.
  • Assist in developing creative and copy direction for global campaigns (360, 180, 90) and adapt them for the cultural specificities of the US market.
  • Work with UX Content Designers to maintain brand tone of voice consistency.
  • Analyze and execute against marketing data and insights to deliver successful copy that serves business objectives.
  • Onboard freelancers and maintain consistent communication with freelancers and creative agencies regarding Back Market's tone of voice, including copy review.
