About The Position

VML, part of WPP, is a leading creative company that combines brand experience, customer experience, and commerce, creating connected brands to drive growth. VML Health is a global healthcare agency that partners with healthcare clients across a broad definition of health, from high science to wellness and everything in between. We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Senior Copywriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a vital part of the creative process, crafting compelling and accurate copy for a variety of materials across different platforms. You will become an expert on our brand, target audience, and voice, ensuring all content aligns with our overall strategy. This role requires strong collaboration skills, as you will work closely with editorial, creative, medical, and regulatory teams to deliver high-quality work that meets all requirements and deadlines.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of relevant client or agency experience.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates strategic and conceptual thinking.
  • Experience in the healthcare/pharma industry
  • Proven ability to write effectively for both Healthcare Professional (HCP) and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) audiences, adapting tone, complexity, and messaging appropriately.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the unique regulatory and communication challenges within the pharmaceutical and healthcare landscape for both professional and consumer audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, concise, accurate, and well-organized copy appropriate to relevant format/medium (print, digital, online, potentially social), ensuring effective communication across HCP and DTC audiences.
  • Display a strong understanding of assigned brands and categories and is responsible for concept creation with Art partner.
  • Write for one or more brands, ensures clinical accuracy, stays true to the brand voice, and has active role in meetings.
  • Develop a strategic understanding of the competitive landscape, demonstrating awareness of emerging data, changes in guidelines, and newsworthy events that could influence brand messaging/strategy.
  • Participate in client presentations when appropriate, while clearly articulating how the idea achieves the communication objective.
  • Represent the agency (with oversight) during medical/regulatory reviews, providing solutions and recommendations.
  • Research therapeutic topics and adapts findings to support brand strategies.
