About The Position

Braven is a national nonprofit dedicated to preparing college students for successful careers. The Senior Coordinator, Volunteer Operations will be the operational backbone for Braven's volunteer program, managing the selection, vetting, training, and onboarding processes for thousands of volunteers. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of the volunteer journey, involving day-to-day operations, collaboration with colleagues, and a focus on continuous improvement. The position requires adaptability and the ability to support various needs across the volunteer lifecycle as Braven scales.

Responsibilities

  • Run the day-to-day execution of the volunteer pipeline conversion process, including managing systems, outreach, and trackers for volunteers moving from info session to application, interview, vetting, and training completion.
  • Execute targeted outreach to volunteers who have stalled in the pipeline using Salesforce, Mogli, and Jira, in coordination with stream leads.
  • Conduct candidate interviews and perform weekly selection audits, evaluating applicants against scoring rubrics and reviewing recommendations from Selection Specialists.
  • Ensure background check compliance.
  • Oversee VIP applicant coordination and Salesforce record accuracy, identifying issues and driving high-priority candidates to completion.
  • Lead approximately 50% of volunteer info sessions, managing scheduling and follow-up logistics.
  • Manage the volunteer pipeline inbox during peak periods, providing responsive support and developing response templates.
  • Provide structured feedback on Braven's mass communications to volunteers, reviewing automated email journeys for clarity and consistency.
  • Collaborate on informational materials for volunteers, such as role descriptions and onboarding guides.
  • Serve as a cross-functional point of contact for internal teams, relaying updates and ensuring consistent communication between Volunteer Operations and delivery partners.
  • Identify manual or high-lift processes and propose solutions for streamlining or automation, potentially using AI-powered connectors or ticketing systems.
  • Document processes, maintain Confluence pages, and create or update operational materials.
  • Share insights from volunteer interactions and pipeline data with the team to inform program improvements.
  • Provide flexible support across the volunteer lifecycle during periods of high need, such as recruitment surges or launch preparations.
  • Support the broader Volunteer Team with internal communications, meeting preparation, and follow-through on team commitments.
