This position is responsible for providing the day-to-day maintenance and repairs of all aspects of a large corporate facilities division. Provides support to the facilities team by responding to routine work request, equipment breakdowns and emergency calls, in a prompt and professional manner. He/she will also perform or assist in completing preventive and predictive maintenance work orders and service request. Identifies necessary consumables and requisition of required parts that are used and/or needed. Independently or with little assistance complete building and grounds maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor or the Operations Manager. You will complete building inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting deficiencies; adjusting or repairs and keep accurate records. Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment including basic trade activities such as painting, general maintenance, and carpentry work. Lifting, moving, and transporting personal property or business supplies. Maintains facilities, shop and mechanical spaces, storage sites and other buildings in a clean, orderly, and serviceable condition. Performs repairs on building elements, interior, exterior, in the central plant areas or in general office spaces, conference rooms and data center as directed. Complete assigned work orders while providing internal customer concerns or complaints. Maintains logs and records of work performed and materials and equipment used for quarterly and annual testing of safety systems. Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, ladders, safety equipment and PPE to complete tasks or projects in safe and efficient manner in incompliance with OSHA standards and company policies. Communicate regularly and effectively by email, phone or in-person with supervisor, contractors, CVS employees and department managers to inform them of work to be performed within their departments. Performs scheduled preventive or predictive maintenance on building mechanical equipment; inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, etc. as directed by the supervisor. Clean roof scuppers and cooling towers as required. Repair or replace broken windows, repair doors, door locks and closers Perform various duties or projects as assigned or directed by the maintenance supervisor or engineering department manager Maintain records of scheduled maintenance, day to day work orders, procedures and preventative maintenance on a computer-based work order system or controls to adjust mechanical equipment systems as required. Responds to callouts and weather-related emergencies such as ice/snow, roof leaks, overflows, critical alarms, equipment failures or other hazardous conditions.

Requirements

  • 3 years of hands-on experience in building trades, facilities maintenance, repair of commercial building, and property management related services and systems.
  • Read and understand written or electronic work orders and assignments, walk or drive to service response area to perform physical work in offices, data centers, mechanical spaces, remote locations such as mechanical boiler rooms to perform assigned duties or provide service to stakeholders.
  • Physically respond to various interior or exterior facilities locations which present various environmental working conditions in order to perform essential duties.
  • Must be available to work various shifts depending on supervisor’s discretion and schedule requirements, ability to work overtime as required to repair or assist others to return facility to full operating condition.
  • Ability and willingness to effectively communicate with others.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate corporate vehicles to/from corporate facilities to investigate complaints, repair building systems or components.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in commercial buildings, data centers, hospitals, or power plants
  • Experience making property repairs utilizing basic hand and power tools.
