Reporting to the Manager, Contract Management, the Senior Contract Manager is responsible for the life cycle of post award contracts of complex goods and services arrangements between Canadian exporters and foreign government buyers.

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary education in commerce or business administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contracting and financial management
  • Knowledge of contract management practices in a domestic and international context which includes international law and contracting practices
  • Knowledge of client /stakeholder relationship management including business development
  • Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
  • Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, regulations, and guidelines
  • English Essential with fluency in Spanish (Reading, Writing and Comprehension) Mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Manages moderate to high complexity contract lifecycle (terms and conditions, cost, schedule, performance obligations) of export contracts from award through to close processes including financial arrangements and managing exporter and buyer issues and relationships
  • Provides input to business development on contract structuring based on past practices
  • Leads meetings with exporters and buyers in support of negotiations and issue resolution including contract amendments and changes
  • Provides input on exporter performance for formal review processes; provides advice, expertise and guidance to exporters to support success in pursuits and delivery
  • Updates project-specific financials to track progress and identify risks; develops mitigation plans including invoicing and payment approvals
  • Conducts site visits / meetings of exporter facilities and buyer locations to ensure project delivery is on schedule and in compliance with the contract
  • Represents CCC at external events such as trade shows and trade development programs – liaises with potential and existing exporters and partner base, including Canadian government representatives, delivers information sessions
  • Leads the assessment, analysis, monitoring, and mitigation of contract risks and issues for complex procurements/contracts, providing guidance and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
