About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer / OPEX. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm or 7:30am-4:30pm at our Greenwood SC Eaton location. The Senior Opex/Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for providing a broad range of professional continuous improvement support to manufacturing operations and plant facility maintenance; provide project responsibility for the execution of complex projects and project assignments within the Operational Excellence department; develop more complex engineering and process control documentation for manufacturing needs; provide coordination and technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or continuous improvement engineering experience in a manufacturing setting

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 4 years of manufacturing or continuous improvement engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC and related software (Microsoft Office, ERP SAP, AS400, AutoCAD).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes, as well as tooling and fixturing design and applications.
  • Drive continuous improvements in manufacturing processes, facility layout, and material handling methods to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Train and support factory operators on equipment, tooling, and standardized work procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee facility modifications, upgrades, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Lead Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events focused on achieving cost reduction targets within assigned areas.
  • Conduct line capacity analyses and implement labor productivity initiatives that support business objectives.
  • Specify, design, source, install, troubleshoot, and maintain manufacturing equipment.
  • Prepare Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) for new equipment in partnership with the Supply Chain Management team and manage associated documentation, including ProLaunch, project timelines, Management of Change, and MESH/Safety requirements.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and Control Plans.
  • Support Eaton's digital transformation initiatives through the implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), electronic data visualization, Industry 4.0 technologies, and automation solutions.
  • Provide cross-functional support for key plant processes and operational initiatives as needed.
  • Support the IGX product line through activities such as gas handling, camera programming, fan circuit programming, and collaboration with other functional teams.
