About The Position

One North, a digital experience agency and part of TEKsystems, is seeking a Senior Content Strategist. This role involves leading content strategy for a portfolio of clients with complex and strategic demands. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, driving project implementation and advanced content strategy across mid- to large-scale projects with no direct oversight. The position requires collaborating with designers, developers, and strategists to create innovative digital solutions. While not directly managing people, the role involves fostering team camaraderie and creating a supportive environment for risk-taking and debate. The role is contract-based and can be remote across the U.S., though ideally based in the Chicago area.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of content strategy experience in an agency or consultancy.
• A bachelor’s degree, preferably related to marketing, communications, or writing/journalism.
• Familiarity with content strategy, messaging and channel strategy frameworks/best practices, SEO, and audience/market research methods and tools.
• Familiarity with content design principles and creating content models and templates.
• Familiarity with content management systems.
• Familiarity with AI’s potential to augment content work.

Nice To Haves

• Semrush, GA4, Yougov knowledge a plus.
• WordPress and Sitecore knowledge a plus.
• Hands-on proficiency in various AI tools a plus.
• Experience in multicultural marketing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop content strategy and messaging frameworks, editorial calendars, editorial/brand guidelines, content models, and publishing workflows.
• Create and structure compelling content for websites, collateral, apps, and other digital experiences aligned to clients’ strategic imperatives and vision.
• Conduct content audits and gap analyses.
• Develop unique concepts and content strategies that solve clients' business and brand challenges.
• Interview subject-matter experts to gather relevant background information.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and strategists to create and refine solutions.
