About The Position

EY’s Digital Risk practice supports Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) companies as they scale cloud-native, AI-enabled, and platform-based operating models. This Senior Consultant role is based in the Bay Area and works with high-growth and global technology organizations operating on microservices architectures and AI-driven engineering environments. The role supports risk, compliance, and control activities across modern, highly automated technology ecosystems. The Senior Consultant works with engagement teams and client stakeholders to design, assess, and implement scalable, audit-ready risk and compliance frameworks. They contribute to Digital Risk engagements and work closely with Managers, Senior Managers, and client stakeholders to deliver risk and control solutions in complex technology environments. The position requires a foundation in SOX, cloud environments, and software development practices, including exposure to AI-assisted development and product and software development lifecycles. Travel of at least 50%, including to client sites, is required, with flexibility to work extended hours as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, accounting, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in IT risk, Digital Risk, or technology consulting, with exposure to TMT sector clients or technology environments.
Hands-on experience or exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or similar environments.
Hands-on experience or exposure to microservices and distributed architectures.
Hands-on experience or exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience or exposure to software development lifecycles (SDLC/PDLC).
Experience supporting IT general controls (ITGCs) and automated control environments.
Experience supporting risk assessments, control testing, and documentation activities.
Experience supporting engagements involving cloud-based or distributed technology systems.
Basic understanding of how control frameworks such as SOX and internal controls apply within modern technology environments.
Willingness to travel at least 50%, including client-site travel, and flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability; ability to manage multiple priorities and produce high-quality deliverables.
Clear communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into structured, understandable outputs.
Ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders and work through complex problems.

Relevant certifications or progress toward certifications such as CISA, CPA, or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS).
Foundational understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and modern engineering practices.
AI-aware mindset and developing architecture fluency, including the ability to interpret system components, data flows, and dependencies.
Knowledge of TMT sector operating models.

Responsibilities

Execute activities across cloud platforms, microservices architectures, and AI-enabled development environments, including risk assessments, control design, and testing.
Work with client IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to support engagement teams and deliver clear, accurate, actionable outputs.
Analyze and document IT controls, processes, and system environments, ensuring deliverables are complete and high quality.
Contribute to the design and evaluation of controls across DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, SDLC/PDLC processes, and distributed platforms, including APIs, microservices, and data environments.
Support identification and assessment of risks within AI-enabled development environments and automated engineering workflows.
Manage individual tasks and deliverables, maintaining accountability for deadlines, quality, and attention to detail.
