About The Position

As a Senior Consultant within CIBC’s IT Operations Service Governance team, you will act as a subject matter expert, leading the design and implementation of governance and oversight practices for Technology Operations processes and controls. This includes addressing regulatory requirements, industry standards, and third-party risk management. A key part of this role involves supporting SOC1 and SOC2 requirements for a major technology infrastructure provider during their annual review process to ensure compliance with critical controls. You will be expected to independently resolve complex and ambiguous challenges that have organization-wide impacts, utilizing strong analytical and inductive thinking to devise new methods. Requirements

  • 5+ years in a compliance role leading and maintaining programs with the ability to elicit requirements and write strong documentation.
  • OR 8+ years in an infrastructure management or infrastructure operations role.
  • Ability to engage with purpose to find the right solutions for clients.
  • Enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information.
  • Confidence in communicating detailed information in an impactful way.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of Confluence/Jira experience while working in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of governance and oversight practice for Technology Operations processes and controls, including regulatory requirements, industry standards and third party risk management.
  • Support SOC1 and SOC2 requirements for a major technology infrastructure provider during the annual review process to ensure adherence to these key controls.
  • Independently resolve a variety of ambiguous challenges with organization-wide impacts, devising new methods using strong analytic and inductive thinking.
  • Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure project needs are met.
  • Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Primarily work with Rates desk, with opportunities to work on other asset classes as it is a cross asset risk management platform.
  • Build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
  • Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals.
  • Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
