About The Position

West Monroe is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its CFO Advisory team. The role supports clients modernizing finance and operations through ERP and CFO technology strategy, including application strategy, transformation roadmaps, technology selection, sourcing, and implementation planning. The consultant brings functional consulting experience in SAP modernization and translates business needs into practical technology recommendations. The role also collaborates with the M&A Merger & Carve-Out Services team on ERP strategy and execution for transactions. The Senior Consultant leads defined workstreams across ERP and CFO technology engagements; advises CFO and business leaders on technology and sourcing decisions; and provides functional SAP guidance for modernization roadmaps and ERP architecture assessments. The role supports transaction diligence, integration, carve-outs, separation planning, Day 1 readiness, and post-close ERP execution. It also manages workstream delivery, facilitates client sessions, produces executive-ready materials, supports engagement leadership and pursuits, and mentors junior consultants. The role uses AI tools and technologies to accelerate analysis and improve delivery while applying sound judgment to evaluate outputs. The position requires travel of up to 50% and the ability to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship. Salary ranges vary by location: $116,000–$136,500 in Seattle or Washington, D.C.; $121,600–$143,000 in Los Angeles; $127,100–$149,500 in New York City or San Francisco; and $110,500–$130,000 at a location not listed. Requirements

At least 5 years of relevant experience, including prior consulting experience.
Functional consulting experience supporting the front-end work of an SAP modernization program, including scoping, estimation, value case development, and roadmap design.
Functional experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA and a strong understanding of finance and business processes.
Experience supporting clients with ERP strategy, application strategy, transformation roadmaps, technology selection, system integrator selection, sourcing, implementation planning, or related finance technology initiatives.
Ability to independently manage workstreams, develop high-quality client deliverables, and work effectively with client and project team stakeholders.
Experience mentoring or developing junior team members and demonstrating leadership within project teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills.
Experience integrating AI tools, such as ChatGPT, into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, with critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Lead defined workstreams across ERP and CFO technology strategy engagements, including current-state assessments, application strategy, transformation roadmaps, fit-gap assessments, and implementation planning.
Support CFO and business leaders on ERP and ancillary technology strategies, including technology selection, vendor evaluation, system integrator selection, and sourcing recommendations.
Serve as a functional SAP advisor for modernization roadmaps, ERP architecture assessments involving SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA on RISE, and analysis of business benefits to inform technology investments.
Translate business requirements into practical recommendations across processes, organization, applications, vendors, and implementation approaches.
Support M&A transactions through technology diligence, merger integration, carve-out and separation planning, Day 1 readiness, and post-close ERP execution.
Manage assigned workstreams, including scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and quality, and communicate issues, dependencies, and recommendations to engagement leadership.
Facilitate client working sessions, gather requirements, analyze current-state processes, and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.
Develop client deliverables, including analyses, business cases, roadmaps, presentations, and other executive-ready materials.
Identify risks, develop solutions, and help project teams deliver on time and at a high level of quality.
Mentor junior consultants, review work, share subject matter expertise, and help build team capabilities.
Support engagement leadership with project planning, status reporting, quality assurance, and preparation of client meetings and presentations.
Contribute functional expertise to proposals and client pursuits and help identify opportunities to expand project-team impact.
Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations, evaluating outputs with sound judgment.
Apply AI technologies such as generative AI, automation tools, and data models to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate client outcomes.
