Senior Construction Operations Lead

FluidstackAustin, TX
$245,000 - $327,000

About The Position

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI, aiming to deploy 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. This involves rethinking every layer of the stack, from acquiring power to designing, building, and operating data centers. The company emphasizes speed, scale, extreme ownership, velocity, first principles thinking, and a passion for the problem space. The Construction Team is focused on delivering gigawatt-scale data center builds rapidly, by inventing a new model for construction management that strips out traditional inefficiencies and productizes the data center for repeatable, modular builds. This role is responsible for running construction operations across multiple concurrent gigawatt-scale sites, managing schedule, cost, quality, and safety. The goal is to set an operating rhythm that surfaces blockers early, standardize the construction playbook for efficiency, and drive constructability feedback into design and manufacturing to engineer out field problems at the source.

Requirements

  • Run construction operations across multiple large industrial or mission critical projects at once.
  • Held GCs to schedule on jobs where the schedule was called impossible.
  • Read a P6 schedule critically and spot the float that isn't real.
  • Turned field lessons into standards other projects then had to follow.
  • Make decisions on incomplete information and own the outcome.

Nice To Haves

  • Data center or semiconductor construction.
  • Modular and prefab delivery.
  • Design-build contracting.
  • Self-perform experience.

Responsibilities

  • Run construction operations across multiple concurrent gigawatt-scale sites: schedule, cost, quality, and safety in one view.
  • Set the operating rhythm between GCs, self-perform crews, and internal teams so blockers surface weeks before they hit the critical path.
  • Standardize the construction playbook across sites so the tenth build runs faster and cleaner than the first.
  • Drive constructability feedback into design and manufacturing so field problems get engineered out at the source.

Benefits

  • Pay equity and transparency.
