About The Position

The Construction Operations Manager ensures every project finishes on time, on budget, and at Rockport quality standards. Reporting directly to the VP of Construction Operations, this operational leadership role focuses on master planning, macro-scheduling, trade coordination, and strict operational accountability. For the first six months, you will work directly and intensely alongside the CEO to align on company standards and strategic scaling. In this role, you will bridge executive vision with field reality, working closely with Site Supervisors who manage day-to-day on-site physical execution.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Business.
  • Minimum of 2 years of construction experience, and/or directly out of school.
  • Accountability: Comfortable driving expectations and holding subtrades firmly to their contracts.
  • Conflict Resolution: Willingness to approach difficult conversations directly and professionally.
  • Strategic Planning: Exceptional forward-planning capacity to visualize dependencies months out.
  • Leadership: Natural ability to unite field teams and office management toward unified build goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and own master construction schedules across all active builds.
  • Establish clear accountability and coordinate timelines across all hired subcontractors.
  • Lead weekly construction operations meetings to identify bottlenecks and correct delays early.
  • Standardize daily and weekly field reporting structures to capture historical field data.
  • Manage procurement planning, ensuring long-lead materials arrive on-site ahead of sequence.
  • Track real-time project budgets, flag variances, and implement cost-mitigation strategies.
  • Negotiate master service agreements and scopes of work with major subtrades.
  • Implement rigid corporate quality control protocols across all phases of construction.
  • Manage the project deficiency lifecycle, ensuring rapid closeout before client handovers.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for client project updates and change orders.
  • Predict and mitigate project safety, environmental, and contractual delivery risks.
