About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our Huntsville, AL office. This position offers the opportunity to apply hands-on construction materials testing and inspection experience within a collaborative engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field testing, special inspections, and construction observation, along with the ability to communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and clients. This is a direct-hire position.

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction materials testing and/or special inspection experience
• ACI Field Concrete Testing certification required
• Minimum of two (2) ICC certifications required
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work outdoors and travel to job sites as needed

Nice To Haves

• Radiation Safety Certification
• Previous construction industry experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Additional ICC Special Inspection Certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations and inspections related to earthwork, utility backfill, excavations, and foundation construction activities
• Conduct construction materials testing and special inspections in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
• Collect field samples and perform testing to verify compliance with construction documents and quality requirements
• Travel to project sites using company-provided vehicles and interact professionally with contractors, clients, building officials, and internal project teams
• Document inspection and testing activities electronically using company databases, including daily reports, testing logs, work items, and photo documentation
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers and maintain consistent communication regarding field activities and project status
• Maintain, clean, and ensure proper working condition of testing equipment and company vehicles
• Support additional field and project-related tasks as assigned by supervisors
