This role focuses on leveraging Octave’s SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) and Smart Construction technologies, including schema development and web client customization, to drive efficiency, data integrity, and integration across construction projects. The role will also support the transition to Octave’s latest offerings, ensuring continuity of construction workflows, completions, and data lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in system configuration, schema editing, and deployment within engineering and construction project environments.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fourteen (14) years of work-related experience or a or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eighteen (18) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Proven experience with: SmartPlant Foundation (SPF/SPO)
  • Proven experience with: Smart Construction / Smart Construction tools
  • Hands-on experience: EF (Engineering Framework) schema
  • Hands-on experience: SPF Web Client configurations
  • Hands-on experience: Developing SANTA configuration packages for production deployment
  • Strong understanding of data models, object relationships, and metadata management within SPF.
  • Experience with system configuration, customization, and troubleshooting in a project execution environment.
  • Knowledge of construction and/or engineering workflows and data lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) and Smart Construction environments to support project execution’s requirements.
  • Develop and edit SPF EF (Engineering Framework) schemas to meet project and organizational requirements, including workflows and integration with internal and external systems while supporting IWPs, materials, completions tracking. etc.
  • Customize and maintain Web Client configurations, to support the different interface requirements for our office and site users.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and IT teams to align system functionality with business processes while conforming to Fluor’s IT and Security requirements.
  • Support the Octave Ecosystems transitions to In-Concert (SDx2), Smart Completions, etc., including data migration and data model alignments.
  • Troubleshoot performance, data integrity, and usability issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, and best practices.
  • Assist in system upgrades, migrations, and deployment of new features.
  • Provide user support and training for system tools and workflows.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across all platforms.
