About The Position
We are a growing PropTech startup from Münster. Our AI-powered software forms the basis for real estate development decisions. Project developers, asset managers, banks, and brokers use syte to decide in seconds whether, what, and where to build, renovate, or buy. We have been recognized with the German AI Award 2023 and the PropTech of the Year Award 2025 by the ZIA (Central Real Estate Association). Today, our platform maps digital twins for 62 million buildings and plots of land in Germany based on over 300 terabytes of geodata. For the next leap, from our current building models to textured LoD3 buildings, we are looking for you as a Senior Computer Vision / Photogrammetry Engineer (m/f/d) in Münster or remotely throughout Germany, starting as soon as possible.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Geoinformation Systems, Geoinformatics, Physics, Mathematics).
- At least four years of practical or research experience (e.g., PhD, research assistant) in (urban) 3D reconstruction, Computer Vision, and Photogrammetry, including the development of functional products or prototypes.
- Proficient knowledge in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing: Sensor and camera models, calibration, and internal and external orientation. Practical experience in combining airborne LiDAR and aerial imagery into metrically reliable, georeferenced data.
- Strong background in geometric and 3D Computer Vision: Structure-from-Motion, Dense Multi-View Stereo, and point cloud processing. Practical experience in generating building models from point clouds and images.
- Proficient use of Python, especially with relevant libraries (NumPy, SciPy, PDAL, GDAL, OGR etc.).
- Team player with experience in version control (Git).
- Interest in the domain: Desire to dive into the challenging PropTech sector. Experience in PropTech, architecture, or real estate is a plus.
- Willingness to learn: Desire to grow quickly in a fast-growing startup, make a real impact, and stay at the technological forefront, especially in cloud technologies and AI.
- Fluent in English (minimum C1 level).
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cloud technologies, ideally Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of German is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Unify all sources into one model: Combine 2D cadastral data, LiDAR point clouds, oblique aerial imagery, nadir satellite imagery, and other sources for the most accurate possible representation of the real world.
- Improve our 3D models: Integrate image data and modern 3D reconstruction methods, from Multi-View Stereo to techniques like Gaussian Splatting, to significantly enhance our building models.
- Achieve textured LoD3: Texture our models from oblique aerial imagery and recognize windows, doors, and facade elements. Project these consistently onto the correct surface of the correct building to enable significantly more precise calculation of floor areas, usable areas, and surfaces.
- Extract more from images: Implement methods such as Multi-Image Super-Resolution and Occlusion-Aware Reconstruction to overcome limited image resolution and occlusions by trees and other objects.
- Bring research into production: Scale methods from a handful of buildings to millions, in collaboration with our Data Engineers who manage pipelines and the platform.
- Develop AI-natively: Utilize the full potential of modern AI coding tools like Claude Code and Copilot, and proactively identify new AI use cases in the context of Computer Vision and 3D reconstruction.
