About The Position

Eversource is looking for a Senior Compliance Field Engineer to support Transmission Compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing activities associated with the development and management of Compliance activities related to the cyber-security, physical security, and maintenance of the Bulk Electric System. These activities include, but are not limited to developing and leading assessments, audits, and reviews of existing compliance, identification of performance gaps; facilitating the determination of improvement actions and tracking them through completion. You will work closely with Operations staff to ensure compliance and implement process improvements. Additionally, you will track changes to applicable standards as they are approved by regulatory authorities. This role requires a hybrid schedule, with current guidelines mandating at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years related experience is required.
  • Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments.
  • Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with power-related software is preferred.
  • Engineering design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Conducts engineering and related studies; completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight and independently manages project schedules and interfaces.
  • Applies fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies necessary to handle assignments of increasing complexity.
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintains accurate records and files.
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.

  • Develops and leads assessments, audits, and reviews of existing compliance.

  • Responds to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs as part of the Emergency Restoration assignment.
