About The Position

Eversource is seeking a Compliance Field Engineer to support Transmission Compliance. This role is responsible for leading and managing activities related to the cyber-security, physical security, and maintenance of the Bulk Electric System. Responsibilities include developing and leading assessments, audits, and reviews of existing compliance, identifying performance gaps, facilitating improvement actions, and tracking them to completion. The individual will collaborate with Operations staff to ensure compliance and implement process improvements, as well as track changes to applicable standards. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3-5 years of related experience. The role is based in Berlin, CT, Westwood, MA, Springfield, MA, or Manchester/Hookset, NH, and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 3-5 years related experience is required.
  • Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments.
  • All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
  • Must be able to work in Berlin, CT, Westwood, MA, Springfield, MA, or Manchester/Hookset NH.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with power related software is preferred.
  • Engineering design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing activities associated with the development and management of Compliance activities related to the cyber-security, physical security, and maintenance of the Bulk Electric System.
  • Developing and leading assessments, audits, and reviews of existing compliance.
  • Identification of performance gaps.
  • Facilitating the determination of improvement actions and tracking them through completion.
  • Working closely with Operations staff to ensure compliance and implement process improvements.
  • Tracking changes to applicable standards as they are approved by regulatory authorities.
  • Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Conducts engineering and related studies; completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with the ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces.
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
  • Maintains accurate records and files.
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
  • Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
