About The Position

The Los Angeles County Probation Department is recruiting highly motivated and career-minded individuals to fill the position of Senior Community Health Worker. This role involves managing college programs with various post-secondary institutions, encouraging youth to explore education beyond high school, and providing information and ongoing support. The position also focuses on developing partnerships with various agency partners and stakeholders to offer individualized support services and initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Community Health Worker will coordinate work programs administered by Community Based Organizations, assist with training, application completion, and documentation. A key aspect of the role is supporting youth in identifying career paths aligned with their interests through surveys and programs. The position requires developing documents and reports to track program processes and results, and coordinating voting registration initiatives by organizing informational sessions and registration drives. The role also assists in evaluating program effectiveness, including that of post-secondary institutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Two years of experience at the level of Community Health Worker in a public or private community-based organization, public agency, hospital, public health organization or health system.
• A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out essential functions.
• Experience must be at a similar level to Community Health Worker, involving similar responsibilities, comparable skills and knowledge, and within a similar organizational structure.
• No withhold or out-of-class experience will be accepted.
• Required experience must be met by the last day of filing.

• Planning, coordinating, and organizing the work of staff who support youth-related programs.
• Collaborating with post-secondary institutions to support youth educational initiatives, including career pathway programs and individualized services that promote academic awareness and literacy.
• Designing and developing curricula, workshops, and related program materials, such as lesson plans, training guides, forms, and participant handouts, for youth-focused programs.
• Conducting research, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports or making recommendations to support youth programs.
• Using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, to track project activities, analyze information, and prepare reports. This includes creating spreadsheets, using formulas, and generating reports.
