About The Position

Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to join their team at the Home Office in Roseville, MN. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of three days on-site (Hamline Office, Roseville, MN). The Senior Communications Specialist serves as a communications partner responsible for advancing ministry-wide priorities through the development and execution of integrated communications plans, messaging and stakeholder engagement strategies. This position partners with leaders and stakeholders across the organization to translate complex business, operational and strategic initiatives into clear, meaningful and actionable communications. Through strategic counsel, message development, executive communications, storytelling and multi-channel communication planning, the Senior Communications Specialist helps align employees, leaders and key stakeholders around ministry priorities. The Senior Communications Specialist reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Communications and works collaboratively with PHS management staff, site leaders, and functional directors of assigned areas of accountability, along with internal and external partners and vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism or related
  • 8+ years proven experience with internal communications or marketing with a track record of successful internal campaign execution including digital, print and broadcast.
  • Demonstrated experience developing communications strategies supporting organizational change, employee engagement and leadership communications and healthcare communications/marketing.
  • Experience in senior housing, service or health care related environments
  • Robust writing and editing skills for a variety of channels including traditional media, online, print, social media, video and audio for stakeholders including donors, residents, families, executives, employees, media and volunteers.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to create and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Support organizational change, strategic initiatives and ministry-wide priorities through the development and execution of communications plans that foster awareness, understanding, alignment and engagement.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive communications project plans, including objectives, stakeholder engagement, messaging, timelines, deliverables, resource coordination, status reporting and post-project evaluation.
  • Develop, support and execute integrated communications strategies and initiatives that advance organizational priorities, business objectives and ministry-wide initiatives through stakeholder engagement, content development, brand alignment and multi-channel communications.
  • Write and edit executive communications, internal publications, newsletters, feature stories, campaign materials, presentations and digital content.
  • Identify opportunities to tell meaningful stories that reinforce organizational culture, mission and strategic priorities.
  • Ensure content reflects organizational brand standards, voice and values.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, human resources, organizational leaders and content contributors to ensure effective execution of communications initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor providing counsel, messaging guidance and communication support.
  • Translate complex organizational, operational and strategic concepts into clear, compelling and actionable communications for diverse audiences.
  • Develop communication frameworks that align messaging, objectives and desired outcomes across organizational initiatives.
  • Negotiate deadlines, prepare project budgets, align resources and track progress/status of each project.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
  • Synergize marketing communication’s team goals with organization goals; actively participate in department activities, meetings and processes.
  • Partner with other members of the team to create and maintain PHS voice and style guides.
  • Assist fellow team members with the completion of work when assigned or needed.
  • Oversee the quality of deliverables, ensuring they align with PHS's, affiliates', or partnerships standards and objectives.
  • Manage analytics and reporting on project performance.
  • Ensures accountability by setting goals, monitoring performance, generating reports, analyze results, and problem solving for all functions across the continuum.
  • Optimize flow of information to foster a culture of accountability and transparency consistent with PHS brand while protecting confidential and protected information through the development and management of key initiatives.
