About The Position

The Commercial Business Development Officer - Relationship Manager is responsible for growing the bank’s core deposits, treasury management services through referrals, self-sourced efforts and partnering with the Commercial Lending team. The Commercial Business Development Officer identifies, develops and sources new commercial banking business and maintains a quality network of relationships and referrals generated from other sources. The successful candidate will be measured by their ability to cultivate leads, secure new client acquisitions, and contribute to the commercial bank’s overall revenue and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or seven years of related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a Treasury Management Sales Officer
  • 10+ years of proven success in a commercial banking environment, relationship manager or similar sales role, with a focus on new client acquisition and business development.
  • Proven record of Business Development and new client acquisition.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiations skills
  • Strong understanding of all banking products and treasury management services
  • Strong credit analysis, risk analysis and commercial lending skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills; demonstrated tactical business development and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking products and services, including credit.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to offer comprehensive and customized solutions that best meet client needs.
  • Monitors and research market/industry trends and business outcomes to anticipate client needs and present proactive solutions

Responsibilities

  • As Business Development Officer (BDO), your primary focus is driving growth by identifying, prospecting, and acquiring new commercial banking customers with over $75MM in annual revenue.
  • Drive the business development and outbound sales execution for soliciting new deposits, lending and treasury management services.
  • Leverage market intelligence to identify untapped opportunities and optimize outreach strategies.
  • Develop and execute a strategic prospecting plan to build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Work with marketing to implement go-to market strategies and create client outreach strategies and communications.
  • Cultivate leads, drive new revenue and collaborate with all segments across the commercial bank including Beacon Wealth Management, Lending, Branch Teams and Provident Protection Plus.
  • As Business Development Officer (BDO), serve as a senior revenue driver responsible for identifying, prospecting, and acquiring new commercial banking relationships with $75MM+ in annual revenue, with a focus on long‑term, profitable client growth.
  • Own and lead the business development and outbound sales execution for originating new deposits, lending, and treasury management relationships, with accountability for pipeline quality, revenue outcomes, and client onboarding success.
  • Leverage market intelligence, competitive analysis, and industry trends to identify untapped opportunities, prioritize target segments, and continuously optimize outreach and prospecting strategies.
  • Develop and execute a strategic, multi‑year prospecting and relationship‑development plan to build and sustain a robust, diversified pipeline of complex commercial opportunities.
  • Partner with Marketing to shape and execute go‑to‑market strategies, influence campaign direction, and drive executive‑level client outreach, thought leadership, and differentiated messaging.
  • Act as a senior collaborator and internal connector, cultivating leads, driving new revenue, and coordinating deal strategy across the Commercial Bank, including Beacon Wealth Management, Lending, Branch Teams, and Provident Protection Plus.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective clients, engaging C‑suite and senior financial leaders to deliver consultative solutions that align treasury, credit, and wealth strategies with client business objectives.
