About The Position

The Senior Commercial Banker is a senior relationship manager who sources, manages, and grows portfolios of complex commercial loans and corporate accounts. They advise businesses on financing, analyze credit risk, and cross-sell cash management and treasury services.

Requirements

Formal credit training is preferred.
Strong attention to detail
Strong Customer service skills
Must be a self-starter and able to demonstrate problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Quick learner and adaptable
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Expert-level knowledge of credit underwriting, financial modeling, and CRM/banking software (e.g., Salesforce, nCino).
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Marketing, Business Administration, Finance or a related field preferred.
8+ years of commercial lending experience within CRE, C&I, community, energy, or middle-market sectors.

Responsibilities

Use expert financial acumen to provide suggestions and solutions to clients and prospective customers while focusing on the client’s financial goals.
Work with internal teams, including Treasury and Credit Underwriting, to determine the creditworthiness of applicants and potential borrowers.
Originate loans (including negotiation with client, loan approval, legal documentation and closing) when deemed applicants are creditworthy.
Demonstrate strong customer service through attentiveness, listening and connecting with customers, and processing transactions quickly and accurately while providing a positive banking environment.
Cultivate prospects through client referrals, networking, social media, sales calls, and participation in professional organizations, social contacts, and relationships built in the community.
Manage, maintain, and review client portfolios as necessary to monitor risk and success.
Assemble financial information and coordinate the generation of complete loan packages for approval presentation.
Act in accordance with all required banking and regulatory requirements.
