Senior CMP Engineer

Entegris•Aurora, IL
•$90,000 - $120,000

About The Position

Entegris is seeking a Senior CMP Engineer to join its Material Solutions Engineering team. The role works closely with R&D scientists, customer-facing teams, field engineers, and manufacturing organizations to develop, qualify, and transfer CMP solutions that address customer needs. The engineer is expected to be a self-motivated, hands-on problem solver who works effectively across functions, adapts to varied tasks, and drives goals that support Entegris’s business. The Senior CMP Engineer leads technical development and customer and technology projects, plans and analyzes polishing experiments, and provides technical direction from problem definition through solution implementation. The role also communicates findings to internal and customer audiences, serves as a CMP technical resource, mentors less-experienced colleagues, and advances process innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related engineering or science field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant CMP or semiconductor experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the CMP process and the impact of CMP consumables, including slurry, pads, and conditioning disks, on CMP performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on complex projects in a team environment and lead development of engineering solutions for end users or customers.
  • Solid problem-solving track record and ability to address a breadth of technical problems using sound methodologies such as 6-Sigma or 8-D.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and knowledge of semiconductor devices and integration schemes.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to develop technical expertise in semiconductor manufacturing and CMP technologies.
  • Experience with DOE, statistical analysis, and data-driven process optimization.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and technical presentation skills.
  • Must not require Entegris immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
