About The Position

The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer is a senior individual contributor within the Cloud Enablement organization, responsible for designing, building, and operating critical internal developer platform (IDP) capabilities and shared cloud runtime services. This role serves as a key technical lead for complex platform initiatives, bridging hands-on execution with architectural design and cross-team influence. The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer plays a central role in advancing cloud-native, platform-first delivery models across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), while improving developer experience, reliability, security, and operational efficiency. Working closely with application development teams, product owners, SRE, security, and cloud operations, this role helps define scalable platform patterns, drives adoption of standardized tooling and self-service capabilities, and contributes to the evolution of Dun & Bradstreet’s cloud platform strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
  • 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related engineering roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS and GCP).
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including module design and standards-based deployments.
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and operating Kubernetes platforms in enterprise environments.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, and security best practices.
  • Experience building developer self-service capabilities, CI/CD pipelines, and automated runtime lifecycles.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills using tools such as Python, Bash, and configuration management frameworks (e.g., Ansible).
  • Advanced experience with platforms and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory, Splunk, and cloud-native observability stacks.
  • Strong Linux systems engineering and administration experience; Windows experience is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate scalable internal developer platform (IDP) runtimes and shared cloud infrastructure across hybrid and multi-cloud environments (AWS and GCP).
  • Act as a technical lead for complex platform initiatives, providing hands-on engineering leadership from design through production.
  • Expand and mature Kubernetes-based platform capabilities, supporting diverse workloads and containerized architectures.
  • Define and promote platform best practices, reusable components, and deployment standards that enable secure, reliable, and repeatable service delivery.
  • Design, build, and enhance self-service infrastructure and platform pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD tooling, and automated provisioning workflows.
  • Collaborate with development teams and product owners to understand use cases, prioritize enhancements, and deliver platform solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Lead and contribute to architecture reviews, technical design sessions, and cross-team whiteboarding for platform and infrastructure solutions.
  • Implement automation-first solutions to reduce manual operational effort and improve platform scalability, reliability, and consistency.
  • Partner with Cloud Operations and SRE teams to improve observability, reliability, incident response, and operational readiness of platform services.
  • Evaluate, test, and integrate new tools, services, and technologies through structured proofs of concept.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Cloud Platform Engineer IIs and other engineers, helping raise overall platform engineering maturity.
  • Contribute to improvements in cost optimization, security posture, and compliance through platform design and automation.
