About The Position

This Senior Cloud Platform Engineer role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily utilizing the Google Cloud Platform. The engineer will collaborate with clients and software developers to gather requirements, develop effective cloud software systems, and improve operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include designing detailed cloud infrastructure, reviewing project objectives, performing workload migrations to GCP, building hybrid-cloud solutions with technologies like Kubernetes and Anthos, and implementing Infrastructure-as-code automation with CI/CD pipelines. The role also requires testing for performance and security, customizing client features, creating documentation, and providing leadership and guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related. Employer will accept a foreign equivalent degree if in the same field.
60 months of experience in job offered, Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Software Engineer, Associate-Projects, Senior Consultant, Associate System Engineer, or closely related.
Experience interacting with clients and gathering business requirements and objectives.
Coding and unit testing of new features/functionalities following company and client standards.
Architecting and designing enterprise applications & prepare HLD, LLD & TDD document.
Experience executing GCP strategy development and migration projects, including delivering best practice recommendations, sample code, and technical presentations for various stakeholders.
Experience designing, implementing, and automating GCP infrastructure solutions for distributed systems and applications.
Giving production support & UAT during development.
Knowledge capture and documentation.
Experience working with the following tools and environments: Java/J2EE, Web Services, JavaScript, HTML, MySQL, Oracle, Terraform, Python, GoLang, GCP, GenAI, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructure solutions using the Google Cloud Platform.
Work with clients and software developers to gather business requirements and develop effective cloud software systems solutions to improve the operational efficiency and performance of client systems.
Develop detailed cloud infrastructure designs and architecture by preparing data models, flow charts, schematic diagrams, and mappings of data sources, transformations, and data movement.
Review project objectives, requirements, and feedback with the infrastructure team and determine project scope, goals, phases, and timelines.
Perform workload migrations from clients’ existing software to the Google Cloud Platform and build experimental hybrid-cloud solutions on top of other systems and applications such as Kubernetes and Anthos.
Implement Infrastructure-as-code environment automation and develop automated CI/CD pipelines.
Test cloud infrastructure for any performance and security issues and debug the application to ensure quality and performance.
Perform software flow analysis, software performance tuning, software documentation, debugging, and Unit and Integration testing.
Customize features for clients’ existing cloud infrastructure to improve existing infrastructure and user friendliness.
Create and maintain documentation and user manuals for cloud and hybrid-cloud software.
Review the code and work deliverables of other cloud infrastructure engineers and provide leadership and guidance to junior-level staff.
